ARTIST STATEMENT -
I was born on the East Coast of Nova Scotia, growing up surrounded by the industrial landscape of refinery fields, the sea, forests, my family’s extraordinary gardens... which have all influenced my making.
As a Science graduate of Human Ecology, I studied the transdisciplinary relationships between humans and their natural, social and built environments.
Having various experiences in different artistic disciplines, such as principal owner / designer of a successful design company, muralist company, fresco work, Venetian plaster work, columnist, gardener, painter and self taught ceramicist ... my process creates a dialogue between the clay I hand build by hand and my lived experiences.
Raw and authentic.
